To get ideas about a display board layout you should look at some of the ones done by our students

in the past. The display board describes, in a summary format, the entire project - from the initial proposed purpose, through experimentation, to conclusions. The key to an effective backboard is planning. Review in your mind your research and plan your exhibit to highlight the story you want to tell.

    General Tips:

    1. On the table in front of the display you can place equipment used and/or samples of your experimental and control groups.

    2. Graphs, maps, cartoons, charts and pictures add variety to your display.

    3. Color is better than black and white. This is true for pictures, titles, labels and messages.

    4. Plan your layout. (Get advice). Trim all materials and make your work as neat as possible. Lay out your background material on the floor before mounting. Try different arrangements. Be creative.

    5. Discuss layout and design with your art teacher. Remember you want to keep it keep it simple. Catch the interest of the judge and tell a story.

    6. Use rubber cement to attach material to construction paper mats. Attach mats to the board using rubber cement.

    7. Have extra copies of your abstract available for judges and interested students.

    9. Give your project a title that is captivating, prominently displayed, and brief.
