Kathryn was recognized as a 2026 National Center for Women in Technology (NCWIT) Aspirations in Computing High School Award – Greater New York City Affiliate Winner. This honor reflects not only her dedication, but also the strength of the programs that have supported her growth.

South Side High School is one of the seventy-seven Long Island high schools that have been named 2024-25 Schools of Distinction or Excellence by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association.

Congratulations to our Girls Varsity Volleyball Team, who won the Class A NYS Championship! This achievement is a testament to their heart, hustle, talent, teamwork and determination throughout the season. Congratulations go out to Coach Steve Mariano and his coaching staff for their leadership. Thank you to the families, faculty, and community members for their support throughout the season. The Scholarships for Academic Excellence are awarded to top students graduating from New York State high schools in June 2026. Student nominees are selected using criteria set by the State Education Department, including their performance on Regents exams taken before the end of the junior year. Scholarships are valued at $500 and $1,500 and are awarded to students who attend an institution of higher education in New York State. “We are so proud of these exceptional South Side High School seniors. They deserve this recognition for their hard work, perseverance, and commitment to excellence that they have demonstrated over their four years here at South Side. 48 players of South Side boys and girls varsity soccer participated in New York City’s Tunnel to Towers 5K Walk & Run alongside three boys soccer coaches, to help raise money for those impacted by the tragedy. The foundation supports struggling families of first responders and military members.

Congratulations to Fayola Allison, the 2025 Girls Varsity Cross Country Nassau County Champion! She ran a blistering 18:31 to secure the win. We are so proud of this amazing achievement!
