“We are very proud of these five exceptional seniors at South Side. Their hard work, perseverance, and dedication to their academics is clear and we are very excited to see what their bright futures hold.”

South Side High School is one of the seventy-seven Long Island high schools that have been named 2024-25 Schools of Distinction or Excellence by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association.

48 players of South Side boys and girls varsity soccer participated in New York City’s Tunnel to Towers 5K Walk & Run alongside three boys soccer coaches, to help raise money for those impacted by the tragedy. The foundation supports struggling families of first responders and military members.

Senior captains from each of the high school’s fall sports teams, along with student musicians, cheerleaders, and school mascots, visited all five elementary schools and the middle school to help build school spirit ahead of South Side’s homecoming celebrations the following day.

Thank you to our CORE and Pathways staff - today our students competed at the annual Kickball competition at Long Beach HS. Our students had friendly competition versus 12 other local schools!
